July and August on a college campus can seem peaceful, even sleepy.

But here’s a closer look at what happens when all those deadlines and stop-starts of the school year give way to summer’s true bounty: uninterrupted time for scholars and proteges to research and learn, explore and grow 鈥 leaps both intellectual and physical.
