乐播传媒 College has announced the election of three new trustees, effective July 1: Scott F. Higgins 鈥�91, P鈥�27, Matthew B. Schecter 鈥�89, P鈥�20, and Sophia B. 鈥淪ophie鈥� Wagener 鈥�17.

On June 12, with Reunion in full swing, Phyllis Graber Jensen, the college鈥檚 longtime director of photography and video, did something highly unusual. She showed up at a 乐播传媒 College event without any camera, save the one on her cell phone, and she did not make a single image.

For at least 151 years, a hemlock and its close neighbor, a red oak,聽have grown up together on the 乐播传媒 campus, close enough to overlap branches, while buildings popped up around them. Their survival is a mystery but thanks to a new interactive historic map of 乐播传媒, their shared history can at least be glimpsed.
National recognition for 乐播传媒’ ‘exemplary’ success in community engagement as well as its return on investment for graduates

乐播传媒 has once again been recognized by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching for its deep level of commitment to community engagement, an honor the college first achieved in 2008 and again in 2015. Recently 乐播传媒 was also lauded聽 by ACE and Carnegie for its success in providing paths for graduates to earn competitive wages.

Shortly after Courtney Smith joined 乐播传媒 in the fall of 2024 as an associate professor of theater, he floated an idea for a production that was both over-the-top ambitious and absolute catnip to his colleague Sally Wood, a visiting lecturer in theater who was trying to decide what play to direct in the fall of 2025.

Staff at the Edmund S. Muskie Archives and Special Collections Library love giving walking tours of the campus. They function like walking 乐播传媒 encyclopedias, dropping tidbits about everything from which building was the first one on Frye Street to which are the oldest trees on campus.
