Poet Paul Muldoon to read at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½
Poet Paul Muldoon will read from his works at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College March 18 at 8 p.m. in Chase Hall Lounge. The reading is sponsored by the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College Department of English. The public is invited to attend without charge.
Muldoon, who teaches English at Princeton University, is widely regarded as among the best in the generation of Northern Irish poets born after World War II. Among Muldoon’s nine collections of poetry are Selected Poems 1968-83 (Faber and Faber, 1986), Madoc: A Mystery (Faber and Faber, 1990), The Annals of Chile (Faber and Faber, 1994) and Hay (Faber and Faber, 1998).
“Muldoon’s genius resides in his visionary, frankly hallucinatory ability to bundle disparate chunks of time — imaginings as well as memories — into a continuous present. Once these poems have made their way into our minds, they open and open and open,” wrote Geoffrey Stokes in the Village Voice.
