Under a competitive program arranged in conjunction with guidance offices at area high schools, qualified high school seniors may enroll in a ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ course each semester free of charge. Upon successful completion of courses, students may request a copy of their ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ transcript.

Registration Procedure

Upon admittance, High School Scholars will receive an email from registrar@bates.edu outlining the steps necessary to log into Garnet Gateway and complete all required forms.

Please note that all Health Forms will need to be reviewed and approved by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Health Services before the Registrar’s Office can process your registration.

Students should review the the list of courses available to High School Scholars and submit the registration form linked below.

The Public Schedule for Fall 2026 will be available mid-August.

For Fall 2026, this form will open on August 24, 2026, and registrations will be accepted through Monday, September 7, 2026.

Registration in any course is not guaranteed, and there are numerous factors that may allow or prevent registration in a given course. Students will receive confirmation of registration via email, and the Registrar’s Office will reach out if requested courses are not available.

ID Cards

High School Scholars will be issued a ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ ID card for access privileges during the period in which they are taking courses; the card will not be available for pickup until the student is registered for a course.
