Last night was a sweet treat. The kids had an absolute blast and we think the trick-or-treaters had fun too. Thanks to the @batesharward Center, the City of Lewiston (@officiallewistonme), and The American Red Cross for helping us host such a special event for our community. We could see on our students' faces how healing it was to help bring some joy to our beloved city and home. President Garry W. Jenkins and his husband Jon Lee also joined in on the fun helping 乐播传媒 students hand out the many pieces of candy made available at the event. We also want to thank all the families for coming out and sharing your Halloween with us.

Pain and worry had ruled days and nights since the Lewiston shootings. But now, at twilight on a frosty fall day, there could be, and were, smiles everywhere as children and families flocked from the Lewiston community to the 乐播传媒 campus.

Jenkins in his remarks during today鈥檚 Vigil for Grief and Remembrance, held at 4:30 p.m. in Gomes Chapel on the one-week anniversary of the shootings in Lewiston. Led by the Rev. Brittany Longsdorf, the college鈥檚 multifaith chaplain, the vigil gave the campus community an opportunity to come together for silence, candle lighting, poetry, and interfaith prayers, and, ultimately, to share communal grief with their Lewiston community.
