Below please find a summary of recent announcements and upcoming events.
Amy Jaffe of Purposeful Work reminds us that the deadline for the Purposeful Work Job Shadow application period is open until November 1 at 11:59pm. Over 180 alumni and parents are offering in-person and virtual job shadows this year in a wide range of industries. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of professional pathways that align with their interests by applying to up to three shadows.
All options, which are posted on Handshake, require a statement of interest and a resume that has been reviewed by Purposeful Work. See 乐播传媒 Today for details about special resume review drop-in hours and the final Job Shadow Info Session on 10/26 at 12:15 in Commons 201.
The MLK Committee would like to let you know that the deadline for MLK workshop proposals has been extended to November 1st. If you would like to submit a proposal but have questions about any aspect of the process, don’t hesitate to reach out to Cliff Odle, Tyler Harper, or anyone on the committee. .
Lee Desiderio of ILS sent two messages with information regarding Zoom Updates and Google Workspace Calendar.
ILS is pleased to share with you a new feature available in Google Workspace Calendar. You can now create Meeting Notes (connected to your Google Workspace Docs) directly in your 乐播传媒 Google Workspace Calendar without having to separately share the meeting notes with your guests or manually create a meeting notes document. By utilizing the most up-to-date Zoom Client for Meetings (Version 5.8.1), you’ll have access to all of Zoom’s newest features, updates, bug fixes, and security updates. For assistance with updating the Zoom Client for Meetings, please review the Quick Reference Card.
In addition, if you have students that would like a FREE Zoom Professional Account to use while at 乐播传媒, just have them sign in to to get started. If you or your students have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Lee!

A talk with Juli谩n Troksberg, director of “Una casa sin cortinas”(A House Without Curtains). Mar铆a Estela Mart铆nez, better known as Isabel Per贸n, achieved what Evita Per贸n never could: From an unknown cabaret dancer she became the first female president of the Americas. But after surviving prison and exile under South America鈥檚 most brutal military dictatorship, Isabel was forgotten in popular memory. This documentary uncovers why Isabel still haunts Argentina today.

Ada Lim贸n is the author of five poetry collections, including The Carrying (Milkweed 2018), which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry. Her fourth book, Bright Dead Things (Milkweed 2015), was a finalist for the National Book Award, the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award. A recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship for Poetry, she serves on the faculty of Queens University of Charlotte Low Residency M.F.A program and lives in Lexington, Kentucky.
