On the Quad outside of Hathorn Hall is a peculiar maple tree (Acer platinoides 鈥楽chwedleri鈥�).聽 This is an old cultivar of Norway maple, which gave rise to the maroon-leaved 鈥溾�� maple.聽 This 鈥� is displaying both red and green leaves; new leaves emerge red and then turn green as they age.
