| Working closely with Production Assistants, the Student Lead Technician is responsible for building and installing scenery / lighting for performances in the Department of Theater & Dance. The Student Lead Technician leads and oversees projects to completion.
This student works in the Schaeffer Theater, Gannett Theater, Black Box, and Scenic Shop. |
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
1. Supervises and instructs lesser experienced Production Assistants
2. Maintains a safe workplace
3. Maintains a clean shop
4. Assists in teaching safe work habits
5. Reads interprets, and explains design drawings
6. Builds and installs scenery / lighting at the discretion of the Technical Director
7. Other duties as directed
The Student Lead Technician must be a current ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ student. Having successfully passed THEA 132 or THEA 232 is a plus.
The Student Lead Technician reports to the Technical Director and Faculty Production Manager. They works closely and leads projects with Production Assistants.
You must be able to climb stairs and a ladder in excess of twelve feet. They will also frequently use saws, drills, pneumatic tools, paint, wrenches, ladders, cables, theatrical lighting, rigging equipment, and the stage counterweight system.
