Gamelan Ensemble Scholar (S99753)

Summary

A gamelan scholar will be a student musician with strong aural and rhythmic skills who models rhythmic strength within the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Gamelan Ensemble. Prior experience with gamelan is not required, but ensemble experience is a plus. Percussionists are particularly encouraged to apply. As a course auditor or enrolled student, Gamelan scholars will rehearse with the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Gamelan weekly on Tuesdays from 4:10-7 with assigned musical parts well-learned. Gamelan scholars must perform with the ensemble in a final concert at the end of the semester. An audition with Professor Gina Fatone is required. Requirements

Strong musicianship skills.
Ability to work cooperatively within a group and provide gentle assistance to other ensemble members if needed.

Working Conditions

Must be able to sit on the floor while playing instruments.
