Duties will include creating communication plans, creating marketing messages to promote across campus, recruiting participants, and assisting with event planning. The BV program is a multi-month workshop series that culminates in the Bobcat Ventures Pitch Competition. The Program Coordinator will participate in bi-weekly planning meetings, attend workshops, and assist with planning and hosting the Pitch Competition. The bulk of the work will occur between October and April. This on-campus position is available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors from any major.

Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Educate and provide guidance to enrolled students on topics such as networking, transferable skills, resume and cover letter development/revisions, interviewing, internship and job search, etc.; this work will take place during drop-in office hours, via phone or e-mail, and at workshops.
  • Advise peers on ways to get involved on campus to build leadership and networking skills, provide motivational support, and act as a sounding board.
  • Collaborate with the Center staff to manage a wide range of projects and events.
    Provide advice to the Center staff on strategic ways to engage students (especially for first-years and sophomores), faculty, and staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies for Center events, provide advice on student trends and publicity methods to reach target audiences.
  • Provide support to the Center staff for projects as needed to assist with the development of Center programs and operations.
