We are thrilled to welcome you and your students to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½.<br>&nbsp;<br>We hope our summer-long outreach will help you feel at home at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and help you support your students as they manage the transition to college.<br>&nbsp;<br>Today, we want to share these resources:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>This year, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will host both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/parents\/events-for-class-of-2026-families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in-person and virtual Summer Welcome events<\/a>, so please check the schedule and watch your email for invitations. In-person events help family members and their incoming students meet other new Bobcats. Virtual gatherings are designed for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ families to provide you with a parent-to-parent perspective.<\/li><li>First-year students will hear from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/first-year-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">First-Year Experience team<\/a>&nbsp;throughout the summer. Next week, incoming students will receive an update about their access to&nbsp;<strong>Garnet Gateway.<\/strong>&nbsp;Garnet Gateway is where new students complete needed forms before arriving at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ such as activating their ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ email, making housing requests, ranking AESOP preferences, and submitting health forms. Please remind your student to activate their Garnet Gateway account.<\/li><li>Once your student is on Garnet Gateway, if you would like access to the portal in order to view your student\u2019s financial aid, billing, or other information, your student must grant you access&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/financial-services\/costs-and-payment\/paying-your-bill\/granting-access-for-parents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">using this process<\/a>.<\/li><li>First-year student arrival is&nbsp;Wednesday, August 31. Fall student-athletes typically arrive before the rest of the class, and they should consult coaches directly about team arrival dates. International students also have an earlier arrival date, so please watch the&nbsp;schedule&nbsp;for that update.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/family-weekend\/2022-schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Back to&nbsp;ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½: Family Weekend<\/a>&nbsp;will take place Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 2022. We encourage you to make travel and hotel arrangements as soon as possible.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are delighted you are part of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ family and look forward to staying in touch.
