ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College and its optional-SAT admissions policy were featured on ABC “World News” on Sunday, October 8.<\/p>\n

In the broadcast story, “Beginning of the End of the SAT?,” ABC “World News” reporter Bob Jamieson stated that “at a growing number of the country’s best liberal arts colleges \u2014 one fourth of the top 100, as measured by U.S. News & World Report \u2014 the SAT has outlived its usefulness. It is no longer required for admission. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College in Lewiston, Maine, was one of the first to drop the requirement, 22 years ago.”<\/p>\n

The ABC Web site<\/a> offers information that did not appear in the Oct. 8 televised story, including a list: “27 Top Colleges Don’t Require the SAT or ACT<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Also, a Sept. 20 NBC “Nightly News with Brian Williams” story<\/a> briefly mentions ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’ 20-year study of optional SATs. Its title: “Will the SAT soon be history? Why hundreds of colleges no longer factor test into admissions.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
