The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign has reached a new total of $336 million in pledges and gifts, reported Vice President for College Advancement Sarah R. Pearson \u201975 to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College Board of Trustees during the board\u2019s recently concluded spring meeting on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign, which was announced publicly five years ago with the largest dollar goal in college history \u2014 $300 million \u2014 concludes on June 30, 2022. The most recent dollar update, announced in November, was $282 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a tremendous moment of pride for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and for our entire community,\u201d said ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ President Clayton Spencer. \u201cFive years ago, we invited the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ community to embrace the college\u2019s aspirations and hopes as their own. And they have.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The message from our community of donors is crystal clear. In return, I extend our deep appreciation and gratitude.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

She added, \u201cEach and every gift from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students has helped to strengthen the college. Today, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is better resourced and equipped, on all fronts, to deliver a transformational educational experience and to widen the door of opportunity for talented students of any means. While the results of the campaign are not yet completely in, the message from our community of donors is crystal clear. In return, I extend our deep appreciation and gratitude.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major thrust of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign is to strengthen the college’s need-based financial aid program to support student access and success throughout their ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ experience. The campaign sought $75 million for its financial aid priority, Investing in Opportunity; donors gave nearly double that. (Josh Kuckens\/ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo everyone who has contributed, in any way, to the continued success of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign: thank you for your resolve, devotion, and generosity,\u201d said Vice President for College Advancement Sarah Pearson \u201975. \u201cWith six weeks still remaining until the campaign\u2019s conclusion, I am confident that the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ community will continue to go above and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added, \u201cI also wish to extend gratitude and appreciation to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ faculty, staff, and students who have provided their time and talent to communicate to our prospective donors why ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ continues to be an amazing and invaluable place. Success feels wonderful; success achieved within the community we love is simply inspirational.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campaign Priorities<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

During the campaign, the college\u2019s philanthropic needs were framed around four priorities: Driving Academic Excellence<\/a>, including an equity-driven drive to improve STEM facilities and education; Investing in Opportunity<\/a>, including strengthened support for need-based financial aid; Catalyzing Student Success<\/a>, including leadership and student programs and Purposeful Work; and Building Financial Sustainability<\/a>, including all annual gifts by alumni and parents to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
