Pearson \u201975, vice president for college advancement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis level of giving, during the first full public year of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/campaign\/\"> The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign,<\/a> reflects the pride felt by our alumni, parents, and friends as well as the excitement they feel about the direction of the college. Total yearly giving to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has more than doubled since 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Forty-five percent of alumni made gifts, a level of participation that places ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ among the top U.S. undergraduate liberal arts colleges. Thirty-four percent of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ parents made gifts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign now stands at $190 million in gifts and pledges toward a goal of $300 million.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Gifts to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/giving-2018\/bates-fund-leaderboard\/\">ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund totaled $7.1 million<\/a> including $810,000 through the Friends of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Athletics. The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund is a key component of The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign and provides real-time support for financial aid, faculty and academic programs, student life, and the arts.<\/p>\n<p>Launched with public celebrations in May 2017, the multiyear ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Campaign now stands at $190 million in gifts and pledges toward a goal of $300 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so grateful for the support and engagement shown by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ alumni, parents, and friends,\u201d said President Clayton Spencer. \u201cThe steady increase in yearly giving enables us to enliven the current student experience even as we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/campaign\/building-financial-sustainability\/\">strengthen the future of the college<\/a> by building the endowment. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During fiscal 2018, alumni celebrating their five-year Reunions helped push the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund to new heights. Overall, this year\u2019s 14 Reunion classes, from 1948 to 2013, contributed nearly one out of every five dollars given to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund. Reunion 2018 was also the best-attended in college history, with 1,277 attendees.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTo the hundreds of alumni and parent volunteers who support the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund effort in so many ways: Thank you.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Reunion Class of 1993 broke three records for a 25th Reunion class: highest attendance rate (32 percent), most ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund dollars raised ($253,293, besting a record set 13 years ago), and highest ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund participation rate (66 percent).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Class of 1993\u2019s efforts are amazing \u2014 and illustrative of the great work that our volunteers do and the generous response by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ alumni,\u201d Pearson said. \u201cTo the hundreds of alumni and parent volunteers who support the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Fund effort in so many ways: Thank you. Your help and support are invaluable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The college\u2019s newest alumni, the Class of 2018, completed their Senior Gift effort with 84 percent participation \u2014 the highest participation rate since 2014 \u2014 and a class gift of $13,950.
