Certainly appreciate the generosity of the Stoddards and the interior of the proposed facility is impressive and will no doubt see significant use by students. I also appreciate the fact that the college will update while preserving Alumni Gym.

Having said that, to be perfectly honest, the exterior of the new fitness center does not fit architecturally with the historic buildings (Grey Cage and Alumni Gym) that surround it. It strikes me that the architects were more interested in making a statement than fitting with the buildings to which. It will be connected, which in my view is unfortunate
