Here are Martin’s Director notes from our 1996 production of “A MidSummer Night’s Dream.
“The fairies in Shakespeare’s play are impossibly glamorous beings who have the power to control people’s sexual fantasies.Existing in some borderline between the real and the imaginary, they appear to mortals as dreamlike figures encountered in the dark.
Are there any creatures like this in our experience? Ever been to the movies?
Watching the stars of Hollywood films of the 1930’s — shimmering apparitions in silver and black — is as close as many of us will ever come to Bottom’s Dream.”
Thank you Martin Andrucki for giving so much to all of us, your students.
Those brief two years gave me memories for a lifetime. I am grateful.

I have so many rich memories of theater productions – good, bad, and in between – but also of learning from Prof Andrucki and my fellow classmates over that month plus in London. It was the perfect Short Term experience and cemented for me how experiential learning can be so much more long-lasting and impactful despite its short duration.

Thank you, Martin Andrucki. My son was one of his ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ students back in the 80’s. I remember a trip to New York plays for short term. The world opened.

It was an incredible learning experience. To learn the theory, the history and then see it applied before your eyes was incredible. We saw some great productions, and some less than great ones. I’m sure he made use of that aisle seat more than once. I carry memories from those 5 weeks with me. Prof Andrucki made that experience possible. His passion for the theater was palpable. Thank you for all that you did for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ students and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Theater. You will be missed.
