I was deeply honored to read this story of Jimmy Carter and the life that he lived. Carter’s time in the White house was one term 1977-1981 and was also an amazing time for him to honor Edmund Musky as his Secretary of State in 1980. Carter was a good friend of Benjamin Mays and knew several black leaders. Benjamin Mays was elected as the Georgia Governor in 1971. Mays passed away and Jimmy Carter was invited to speak at Morehouse College on behalf of Benjamin Mays in 1984.

Jimmy Carter continued after his Presidential time with complete connection and commitment to America until he ended his life well at age 100, a very good time to say goodbye.

This article touches on all the deepest reasons �ֲ��ý College drew me to attend: commitment to freedom and equal opportunity for all in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. This is built on a solid foundation and commitment to education to uphold these timeless principles.

I had the blessing and good fortune to be at �ֲ��ý in my my second year when he arrived to deliver his visionary remarks and reaffirm his commitment to education, social justice and the environment. He was a deeply involved member whose faith greatly inspired and impacted his own life and countless others.

President Carter was the first President I was old enough to vote for. Thank you for your vision, commitment and leading example of service to community, state, country and the world.

Prayers for your highest good, warm smile and to continue to inspire and live on.
