Professor Taylor taught how to apply the appreciation of literature as critically as any and to fully appreciate the meaning and cultural value of bodies of work. The various perspectives of the objective and pragmatic world in which we reside enable us to either laud it blindly and participate in it intensely, or to shape it and steer it in fruitful, better ways. English majors like political science and other liberal arts majors account for the objective perspectives that shape our witnessing of our world and professors push us quite hard to participate and better the world. Our leadership is shaped by Dr. Taylor, very fundamentally, and I soulfully stir inside from her today in the future in time.
