ArtVan: A Community-Based Non-Profit in the Time of COVID-19
Over the years, many ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ students have loved their work with ArtVan, which offers therapeutic arts to encourage youth with limited arts access to fully express their imaginations, relationships, and experiences. The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Student (newspaper) had the opportunity recently to speak with Jamie Silvestri, the Executive Director and Art Therapist for ArtVan and Shannon Els, the director of development and communications for the organization, as they reflected on the challenges of running a nonprofit that is based on social connection during a pandemic.
