Inaugurated in 1998, the Phillips Society honors the landmark $9-million endowment bequest of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½\u2019 fourth president, Charles F. Phillips, and his wife, Evelyn Minard Phillips. <\/p>\n\n\n

Membership includes more than 550 alumni, parents, and friends who have provided for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ in their estate plans, trusts, or other financial arrangements<\/a>. We are grateful for each and every gift that helps ensure that the best of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will endure for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Historically, planned gifts and bequests have been the single largest source of endowment support for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. Bequests and other planned gifts to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will help to ensure that the college can afford to maintain the highest level of academic excellence and its position of leadership among the nation\u2019s finest liberal arts institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An alumnus who has given more than $2 million in planned gifts to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ calls his support \u201cthe closest thing I can imagine to an eternal gift to America. I have more confidence that ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will be doing its work faithfully in a hundred or two hundred years than any other organization I can see.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
