In conjunction with partners from all over campus, the First-Year Experience Team invites you to start finding answers to these questions and more by attending a Being at 乐播传媒 Panel. These panels feature key 乐播传媒 community members including current students – and sometimes alums! – people who have experienced the day-to-day trials and triumphs of, well, being at 乐播传媒. Being at 乐播传媒: Preparing for Your 乐播传媒 Student-Athlete Experience  

Join members of the 乐播传媒 Athletics community for a virtual panel designed to help incoming first-year student-athletes prepare for their transition to 乐播传媒. You’ll hear from Athletics leadership, current student-athletes, and staff as they share insights on navigating the transition to college, building community, balancing academics and athletics, and making the most of your first year at 乐播传媒. The session will conclude with a live Q&A, providing an opportunity to ask questions before arriving on campus.

  • To join, visit the , , or account for your applicable 乐播传媒 graduation year and DM the admins with your name and the email address you used to apply to 乐播传媒 (for confirmation purposes). If you don鈥檛 see a 鈥渟end message鈥� button, tap the three little dots in the upper right hand corner of the account page and select 鈥淪end message鈥� from the menu. If you still have issues, you can DM the @batescollege account with your info. Note: All admitted transfers are welcome to join the @bates2030_official account to meet other students recently admitted to 乐播传媒.

Trips take place all over the state, and include everything from community engagement to rock climbing. If you鈥檙e not a big fan of camping in the great outdoors, don鈥檛 worry – there are trips that return to campus every day, too, so you can sleep in your dorm room. Fall 2026 AESOP trips are now posted!
  
• Speaking of your dorm room, one of the things on your mind might be where you鈥檙e going to live in your first year at 乐播传媒! You鈥檒l submit your First-Year Housing Application in June, but while you wait, we invite you to check out the Housing Tour for Upperclass Students, as well as the Virtual Tour of campus to help you start to envision life on campus.

Life at 乐播传媒 is defined by our vibrant community. With more than eighty student-run clubs and organizations, there is always something happening for you to get involved in, connect with others, and explore your interests. You鈥檒l find a central hub for campus life and student leadership development in Chase Hall, which houses the First-Year Experience (FYE) team, Student Affairs, the Student Center for Belonging and Community, Purposeful Work, and more.

You鈥檒l find so much to do outside of the classroom! At the very beginning of your journey, you鈥檒l take a trip to explore Maine during the Annual Entering Students Orientation Program (AESOP) 鈥� our student-led orientation trips that take you everywhere from rock climbing to community engagement. As the year progresses, you can expect to enjoy a memorable meal in Commons during the Harvest Dinner (pictured below), attend the glamorous Gala dance, or take a chilling plunge into Lake Andrews at the annual Puddle Jump during Winter Carnival (also pictured below).

These are just some of the many traditions and events that bring our Bobcat community to life. We invite you to explore campus traditions you鈥檒l experience as a 乐播传媒 student!聽
