Walker teaches courses on Greek and Latin at all levels.<\/p>\n
Henry John Walker is a Lecturer in Classical and Medieval Studies at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ College. He received his B.A. in Classics from Trinity College Dublin (1982) and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Classics from Cornell University (1985 and 1989).<\/p>\n
Walker\u2019s research is on myth and social ideals in the ancient world. He has published Theseus and Athens<\/em> (Oxford 1995), a work that studies the concept of the hero-king in Athens, and a translation of Valerius Maximus\u2018 Memorable Deeds and Sayings <\/em>(Hackett 2004), a collection of stories that reveals Roman attitudes on a wide range of social issues. In 2015, he published The Twin Horse Gods: The Dioskouroi in Mythologies of the Ancient World <\/em>(I.B.
