Professor Fra-Molinero teaches courses in Spanish early modern literature, literature and culture of the African Diaspora in Spanish, and literature of Equatorial Guinea.
Doctor en Filolog铆a inglesa por la Universidad de Sevilla (1986) y doctor en Literatura espa帽ola por la de Indiana (1990). Lleva impartiendo clases en 乐播传媒 College desde 1994. Su 谩rea de estudio se centra en las literaturas de la primera modernidad (renacimiento y barroco) en Espa帽a y Am茅rica. Sus investigaciones se realizan en el campo de la representaci贸n del negro y su di谩spora. Es autor de La imagen del negro en el teatro del Siglo de Oro (Madrid, Siglo XXI, 1995) y ha editado varios vol煤menes en revistas especializadas sobre temas afines. Tambi茅n escribe sobre la literatura de Guinea Ecuatorial y sobre temas de cine. En 2018, con la profesora Sue E. Houchins, edit贸 y tradujo la hagiograf铆a de Sor Teresa Chicaba, la primera mujer africana que escribi贸 en espa帽ol: Edited with Introductions by Sue E. Houchins and Baltasar Fra-Molinero. Vanderbilt University Press. Ha publicado tambi茅n una edici贸n cr铆tica, con la profesora Benita Sampedro Vizcaya, de la obra in茅dita de Raquel Ilomb茅 del Pozo Epita, la primera escritora de Guinea Ecuatorial en ver su obra llevada a la imprenta: Ceiba II: Poes铆a in茅dita (Madrid: Verbum, 2014). Es asimismo editor de una colecci贸n de ensayos sobre Cervantes y el concepto moderno de raza, publicado en Annals of Scholarship (2010). 听El profesor Fra-Molinero ofrece cursos tambi茅n en el Programa de Africana y Estudios latinoamericanos de 乐播传媒 College.
Doctor en Filolog铆a Inglesa, Universidad de Sevilla, 1986. Ph.D. Spanish (Indiana University 1990). Has been teaching at 乐播传媒 College since 1994. His area of specialization focuses on Spanish and Latin American early modern literature (Renaissance and Baroque periods. His research focuses on the image and representation of the African Diaspora and Blackness. He is the author of听La imagen de los negros en el teatro del Siglo de Oro [The Image of Blacks in Golden Age Theater] (Madrid, Siglo XXI, 1995), as well as several articles on the subject. With Professor Sue E. Houchins, he is the author of a critical edition of an eighteenth-century saint鈥檚 life (hagiography) on Sor Teresa Chicaba, the first African woman to have her writings printed in Europe: Edited with Introductions by Sue E. Houchins and Baltasar Fra-Molinero. Vanderbilt University Press. With Professor Benita Sampedro Vizcaya he produced a critical edition of the unpublished poetic work of Raquel Ilomb茅 del Pozo Epita, Ceiba II: Poes铆a in茅dita (Madrid, Verbum 2014). Together with Professor Sampedro Vizcaya he co-edited a monographic volume in Afro-Hispanic Review on the literary and cultural production of Equatorial Guinea. He is also the editor of a collection of essays on Cervantes and the modern concept of race, published by Annals of Scholarship (2010). Professor Fra-Molinero also teaches in the Africana program and the Latin American studies program at 乐播传媒 College.
