{"id":14359,"date":"2021-11-15T16:00:38","date_gmt":"2021-11-15T21:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/dof\/?p=14359"},"modified":"2021-11-15T16:00:39","modified_gmt":"2021-11-15T21:00:39","slug":"week-of-october-18-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/dof\/2021\/11\/15\/week-of-october-18-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of October 18, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below please find a summary of recent announcements and upcoming events.<br><br><strong>Megan McHenry in the Registrar\u2019s Office<\/strong> shared the most recent edition of <em>For the Record<\/em>.&nbsp; Included in the message were deadlines and information that might be of interest to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Please submit all edits to the winter 2022 draft schedule by Wednesday, October 20, 2021.<\/li><li>Friday, October 22 is the last day for students to drop a fall course or to change from pass\/fail back to a letter grade.<\/li><li>The winter 2022 schedule will go live for students no later than Friday, October 29, 2021.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Christine Schwartz, Associate Vice President for Dining, Conferences and Campus Events announced that effective Monday October 18, 2021 ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ community groups who book space in meeting rooms in Commons ( 201,221\/222,226,225) may take advantage of the through the line catering option. <\/strong>This option allows meeting participants to make meal selections in Commons and return to their reserved space to eat&#8211; meals can not be consumed in the Commons dining room.&nbsp; Please remember that masks must be worn at all times while in the building except when seated and eating.&nbsp; Groups interested in the through the line option must book space in Commons through EMS and receive approval from Bobcat Catering at <a href=\"http:\/\/Bobcatcatering@groups.bates.edu.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bobcatcatering@groups.bates.edu. <\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;Please be sure to include an account and numbering of individuals attending when you reach out to Bobcat Catering. This is a day on campus that our work transforms from the regular classes to a series of events on this day. With the pandemic still around us, we are still planning for 2022 MLK Day observance-which may be via Zoom, in person, or via a hybrid format on January 17, 2022 .&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An important part of the day consists of morning and afternoon workshops. These workshops are typically organized by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ faculty, staff, students, and administrators, but sometimes also local community members, and they offer a rich diversity of formats and ideas. The success of MLK Day depends heavily on our having a full program of workshops, and so the success of the day depends on people such as yourself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The theme for MLK Day 2022 is &#8220;Decolonization and Liberation.&#8221;&nbsp;
