We do that in a wide variety of ways, that link to our teaching, scholarly and creative work, and governance work, and a mission-focused approach to recognizing those contributions could help clarify their significance in the T&P process.

]]> /dof/2019/11/22/institutional-governance/ Fri, 22 Nov 2019 18:29:54 +0000 /dof/?p=11257 One of the ways faculty contribute to the college is through our institutional governance work, which I would like to see more centrally recognized in our T&P processes. Given that many of us have tenure, we are in a position to advocate for some central aspects of the college’s mission in a different way than others on campus can. That is not to suggest others’ contributions are not valuable, they certainly are, but ours also offer something unique. If we don’t adequately recognize the importance of that work in our own reward structures, we diminish the potential of that unique contribution.
