The purposes of the Alumni Council are to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the mission, vision, values and strategic directions of the college;<\/li>\n<li>Be a positive, energetic ambassadors for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½; and<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the highest levels of commitment of personal capital to the college.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alumni can send feedback to <a href=\"mailto:alumni@bates.edu\">alumni@bates.edu<\/a> and visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bates.edu\/alumni\/alumni-council\/\">www.bates.edu\/alumni\/alumni-council\/<\/a><br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Impact Work \u2013 FY19 Goals and Accomplishments<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Enhance attendance and identify best practices for regional events and Reunion planning.<br \/><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Council Champions<\/span>: Jeremy Chase \u201991 and Mike Hogan \u201985<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Highlighted FY19 accomplishments<\/span>:\n<p>&#x2714; Surveyed Alumni Council Members for suggestions to inform Reunion and Regional Events Guide<br \/>&#x2714; Using data to create Reunion Guide with best practices for Reunion Committees<br \/>&#x2714; Using data to create Regional Events Guide with best practices for Regional Volunteers<br \/>&#x2714; Working with staff to design \u201cRegional Liaison\u201d volunteer role for large alumni markets<br \/>&#x2714; Represented the college at 23 regional events with 5 more planned<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support and further goals of Purposeful Work Initiative<br \/><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Council Champions<\/span>: Tracy Peacock \u201994 and Katie Hawkins Vail \u201805<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Highlighted FY19 accomplishments<\/span>:\n<p>&#x2714; Hosted a panel discussion between current seniors and alum focused on the topic \u201cNavigating Adversity in your career\u201d (February, 2019)<br \/>&#x2714; Hosted networking happy hour between juniors and seniors and the council (February, 2019) &#x2714; Hosted panel discussion between First Generation alums and students at the OIE (May, 2019) &#x2714; Conducted ten 1 on 1 career coaching sessions for current students (May, 2019)<br \/>&#x2714; Piloted \u201cReunion outreach\u201d effort aligned with mentoring in the fields of education, legal services, and healthcare.
