In the second Mosaic Book Club selection, KIN by Tayari Jones, we follow childhood best friends Vernice and Annie, who take starkly different paths into adulthood. Vernice leaves for Spelman College and marries into an affluent family, while Annie embarks on a perilous quest to find the mother who abandoned her. Kin is an emotionally rich story of sisterhood, mother-daughter bonds, and survival in the American South.

The Mosaic Book Club provides an inclusive and affirming space for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ alumni to engage in meaningful dialogue and lifelong learning. This club directly advances the mission of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Alumni Mosaic by strengthening community among alumni of color, LGBTQIA+ alumni, first-generation alumni, international alumni, and those who support and identify with these experiences.

Through shared reading and intentional conversation, we explore diverse narratives, deepen our understanding of varied perspectives, and build lasting connections across the Bobcat network.
